Marvin Bernard Jones, a 17-year-old male, is in custody at the Seminole County jail after shooting his stepfather, Remiah Coachman, a 31-year-old male.
The incident took place at the family home on St. Matthews St. John Church Road in Seminole County, Georgia.
On Monday, January 13, around 5:00 pm, Seminole County Sheriff’s Office received a 911 hang-up call. Several attempts were made by 911 operators to call the number back, with no response. Deputies were dispatched to the residence. 911 operators then received additional 911 calls, first requesting deputies and then an ambulance to respond to a residence on St. Matthew St. John Church Road. Upon deputies’ arrival at the residence, they located the victim, who had been shot by his stepson. The stepson was still at the residence and was taken into custody by deputies. The victim was transported to the Donalsonville Hospital where he received emergency treatment and was later transferred to Tallahassee Memorial Hospital. The shooting is believed to be the result of a domestic disturbance. The offender is being held at the Seminole County Jail, charges pending further investigation.
