Karen Kimbrel has announced to the Donalsonville Seminole County Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors her plans to retire and vacate the position of president of the local chamber. The board will meet in September to officially accept Kimbrel’s resignation and confirm her final date of employment. At that meeting the board will also review the qualifications for the position and begin the process of recruiting and hiring a new president.
Kimbrel, who has held the position since March 1, 2016 commented, “This has been a very difficult decision. I have so enjoyed my time here at the chamber, but there are some things that I want to do and if I am going to do them, I better get busy! Most everyone here has been very good to me and I have made many new friends. I will treasure my memories of my Chamber years here always; and anyway, I will only be 13 miles down the road, so I am not going very far. I plan to resume my consulting and grant writing. Thank you to all for the sweet memories.”
