Kim Weldin selected as System Teacher of the Year

Kim Weldin selected 2017-18 Seminole County System Teacher of the Year and SCES Teacher of the Year.

Superintendent Brinson Register is proud and pleased to announce that Kimberly Weldin is the Seminole County System Teacher of the Year.  Weldin was also selected as the Seminole County Elementary School Teacher of the Year.

Weldin graduated from Albany State University in 2010 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education. From there, she began her teaching career as a Pre-K teacher at Smiling Faces Daycare in Donalsonville, Ga. In 2013, Seminole County Elementary School welcomed her home as a Special Education Teacher. Being called into the field of education is one of her life’s greatest blessings. She adores her students and loves her SCES family!

Weldin is also an active member of New Hope Family Worship Center where she serves as a worship team member and the children’s church coordinator for the elementary-age children. She is in the process of pursuing her Master’s degree in Deaf Education from Valdosta State University. Mrs. Weldin is married to her wonderful husband, Joshua, and they have a five-year-old daughter named, Allie Rae. The Weldins are also expecting a precious little boy in the beginning of March.

Superintendent Register also proudly announced Crystal Milner as this year’s Middle High School Teacher of the Year.

Milner has been teaching high school biology and environmental science at Seminole County Middle High School for 11 years. She taught seventh and eighth grade math and science at Rehobeth Middle School for three years in Rehobeth, Alabama. Mrs. Milner is a graduate of Valdosta State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in biology. She holds a second Bachelor of Science degree in secondary education from Troy State University Dothan. She is a 1999 graduate of Jackson High School in Jackson, Georgia.

Crystal is the daughter of Billy Craig and the late Shirley Craig. She is married to Josh Milner and they have a ten-year-old son, Decatur Rae Milner. They reside at Lake Seminole. Milner is an adventurer and loves her outdoor lifestyle. She is actively involved in the community and enjoys helping others.
