The Donalsonville Womans Club meeting was held last Thursday at the Donalsonville City Hall Council Chambers. David Maxwell, representing the Donalsonville News, the chamber of Commerce and the BetterWay Initiative presented the program. Maxwell presented a brief recount of the newspaper’s post hurricane coverage and its efforts to highlight the community unity and incredible acts of kindness being offered in the wake of Hurricane Michael’s devastation.
Maxwell ended his discussion with a challenge for all to work together to rebuild this community even better than it was by replanting lost BetterWay trees, planting additional trees, replacing storm damaged benches and street signs and launching the capital campaign to raise funding for the renovation of the downtown fire station into a community art gallery, museum and event venue.
Hostesses for this month’s meeting were Betty Herring, Deanne Hanna, Susie Shingler, and Anne Trawick.
