Seminole County Family Connection in collaboration with the Downtown Development Authority are excited to announce they are hosting the Seminole’s Got Talent Show. Elementary students will preform on May 3rd and the middle/high school May 4th. Cash prizes will be awarded for the winners.
Forms were sent home with elementary students last week and forms for middle/high school students forms are available in the school’s front office. The registration form is in this edition on Page 11A, and can also be accessed on Family Connection’s Facebook page under the menu tab. The deadline to turn in registration forms to the front office of the student’s school is April 10th.

This is planned to be a fun event that will allow students to share their special talents with their peers and community. Non-musical acts are welcomed and highly encouraged.
The show is open to students in grades Pre-K-twelfth grade. Elementary night (Pre-K-fifth) will be May 3rd and middle/high (sixth – twelfth) will be May 4th .
Soloists and groups of up to six students are eligible.
Students may perform in only one act and each student must attend one audition in order to participate in Talent Show.
If selected, participants will pay the $10 entry fee and write a short intro/bio to be used when introduced.
Lyrics, costumes, and performances should be compliant with a family atmosphere and all audiences. Music and performances will be screened for appropriateness. All acts will be limited to two minutes maximum time, and all equipment for the student’s act must be provided by the student. If your act requires accompanying music, the music must be: Provided to the Talent Show Committee at the time of the auditions, brought to the audition on a CD labeled with the student’s name, song name, and artist/composer, edited to be no longer than two minutes in length, recorded as a MP3
If you are singing, you must provide a copy of the lyrics at your audition. The Seminole’s Got Talent audition committee reserves the right to censor song lyrics, as they should be appropriate for a setting for all ages.
For auditions and rehearsals, singing acts must use karaoke version of song. Auditions, rehearsals and performances will be held at Olive Theater and music, costumes, and props must be ready at auditions. Piano, mic and sound system will be provided. Participants will only need to attend ONE audition day.
Auditions are scheduled for Monday, April 15th at 5:30 p.m. OR Tuesday, April 16th at 6:15 p.m. Participants will be contacted by April 12th for what day and time you will be scheduled.
Dress rehearsal will be held at Seminole County Elementary on Monday, April 29th at 5:30 p.m. and at the Middle/High School on Tuesday, April 30th at 6:15 p.m.
The Elementary Talent Show will be held Friday, May 3rd at 7 p.m. and the Middle/High School Talent Show will be held Saturday, May 4th at 6 p.m. All performance will be held at the Olive Theatre.
