Diamond Indians to host state playoff series at home on Thursday May 2

UPDATE:  The Seminole County Diamond Indians won one and lost one ( W 13-2) (L 5-4) in Thursday’s State Playoff Second Round doubleheader against Wilcox County here in Donalsonville. The Tiebreaker game will be Today, Friday, May 3 at 5 p.m in Donalsonville – with the winner advancing in the State Tournament.

Game times are Thursday, May 2 at 4 and 6:30 p.m and if necessary, 5 p.m. on Friday, May 3

The Seminole County Baseball Indians, (19 wins, 7 losses)  the #7 seed in the state Class A public school power ratings, received a bye in the first round of the state playoffs. The Diamond Indians will host the Wilcox County  Patriots, (11 wins, 11 losses) in the second round in a best-of-three series beginning today, Thursday, May 2nd with a double header.

The first pitch is at 4 p.m. and the second game will immediately follow beginning around 6:30 p.m. If a Friday game is necessary, it will begin at 5:00 p.m. The Diamond Indians have a season record of nineteen wins and seven losses.

Team players include Shamal Hopkins, Ty Moulton, Kase Barber, Ty Williams, Ashton Childree, Aubrey Johnson, Cleve Cofty, Baylor Williams and Owen Cross; Logan Jones, Payton Price, Isaac Long, Jacob Jarvis, Aiden Sherrer, Chase Smith, Peyton Bishop, Hunter Hodges and Brock Dixon. Truett Johnson is the head coach and Wes Williams and Chris Johnson are assistant coaches.
