SCHS to graduate 96 May 24

The graduation ceremony for the Seminole County Middle/High School will be held on Friday, May 24 at 7:30 p.m. in the Jesse McLeod Gymnasium.

There are 96 members of the Class of 2019.  On May 24, Kent Richardson, SCMHS Principal, and Brinson Register, Seminole County School Superintendent, will present the graduates with their diplomas that they have worked tirelessly to obtain.

The program for the evening will begin with the processional directed and performed by Gene Houston, Dallas Burke, Maria Kenyon and Phillip Rogers. The  Pledge of Allegiance will be presented by Caleb Kenyon and the Invocation will be given by Meribeth Childree. Samantha McLendon will provide the Welcome, followed by the Salutatory Address from Radhika Patel and the Valedictory Address from Will Cobb.

The school’s show choir Legacy will perform “I’ll Be There for You” and “Found Tonight” and Carson Deal will introduce the event’s speaker, Principal Richardson. Following the speaker, Register and Richardson will present the diplomas and the evening will conclude with Shanderica Carr leading the Alma Mater and Will Cobb calling for the Changing of Tassel.

It is very important to Seminole County Middle/High School to make this a memorable event for all graduates and their families. The graduation exercises are to honor the graduates. Therefore, school officials ask that all parents and family members honor this event by following the Etiquette for Seminole County High School Graduation guidelines listed on page 9 in this edition.

Because of limited seating capacity, the school is issuing graduation tickets to graduates.  This will insure that immediate family members will have a seat in the gym for the ceremony.  Each graduate will receive 14 tickets for those wishing to attend the ceremony in the gym.  Others without tickets may view the live stream in the cafeteria. Tickets will be distributed to the Seniors on Thursday, May 16th during homeroom.

All attendees must enter the ceremony through the gym lobby doors.  These doors will be opened at 6:30 p.m. and close at 7:20 p.m.  No one will be allowed to enter the gym after the doors are closed. No balloons will be allowed in the gym.

Junior Marshals for the graduation ceremnony will be Shelby Godby, Abigale Haywood, Millie Holt, Hunter Hodges, Cintorra Jackson, Larry King, Ty’Ina Moore, Precious Morman, Annie Register and Masey Tabb.

The SCMHS 2019 Graduation Committee includes Mary Jean Albritton, Jade Brannon, Maribeth Burke, Carol Baker, Natalie Horne, Sandy Hunter, Maria Kenyon, April Tabb and Kathryn Trawick.
