Have you ever thought about how the food you eat goes from the field to dinner plate? If so, take this opportunity to come to the 2019 Seminole County Farm Tour and see how it’s done. The event is set for Wednesday, June 12 from 8 a.m. until 1 p.m. Sign in for the tour will be held from 8 a.m. until 8:30 a.m. on the 12th at the Seminole County Ag Center on Town and Country Road in Donalsonville.

This year’s Farm Tour includes field stops with crop scouts to talk about what they are looking for and how they assist farmers throughout the year.  The tour will make several different stops at different crop locations, as well as a stop at the new Sun South John Deere dealership, and a visit to the American Peanut Growers shelling and storage facilities! This should  be a great tour and will include refreshments along the way and a bag lunch provided by the tour’s  local sponsors during the tour.

Although this is a free event, registration is required for preparations in transportation (by bus) and food arrangements. The deadline for registration  will 5:00 p.m. on June 7.  If you need special accommodations due to a disability please contact us five days prior to the tour. To register for the tour please contact the University of Georgia Seminole County Extension Office at (229)524-2326 or email us at uge4253@uga.edu.
