Planning continues for the 2020 Seminole County Centennial celebration. Mark your calendar and get ready for the main events of the 100-year celebration to be scheduled during an eight day period from October 18-25, 2020.
Details of the main events and activities to be scheduled during October and throughout the 2020 year are still in the planning phases. Ideas currently being discussed include a potential gala costume ball event, community hymn sing, progressive dinners, indoor and outdoor entertainment, recipe contests, food and history publications, an agricultural exposition, history walks and school activities, a centennial Harvest Festival and more.
What would you like to see and do to commemorate the momentous event? Monthly planning meetings are being held at the Donalsonville-Seminole County Chamber of Commerce to brainstorm ideas and plan activities. Any person in the community wishing to be a part in the planning is welcome and encouraged to attend.
The next Centennial planning meeting is set for 5:30 p.m., Thursday, August 22 at the chamber office located at 122 East Second Street in downtown Donalsonville.
For questions or additional information contact the chamber at 229-524-2588.
