Sealed bids for roadway resurfacing in Seminole County, Georgia are now being accepted at the Seminole County Board of Commissioners Administration Office located in the Seminole County Courthouse in Donalsonville.
The bidding process will close at 11 a.m. on December 5, and the project will be awarded in one contract with a 180 consecutive calendar day construction schedule. Additional details about the bidding process can be found on page 10A in this edition.
Funding for the roadway construction is coming from the Seminole County TSPLOST, the transportation special purpose local sales tax. The one cent sales tax is restricted to transportation related projects and was approved by Seminole County in the last election. The TSPLOST tax and collection began on September 1, 2018.
The resurfacing work consists of the widening and resurfacing of approximately 18 miles of roadways within Seminole County. The Board of Commissioners has identified the following roads for the resurfacing project: Braswell Godby Road, Seminole Shores, Hall Drive, Reynolds Landing Road, Stapleton Drive, Three Notch Road, TN Smith Road and John Thursby Road.
The estimated cost of this project is $2,645,000 and work should begin early in the calendar year of 2020.
