Spirit of Christmas festival and parade is Dec. 7

Organizers of the weather-delayed Harvest Festival and the annual Spirit of Christmas parade  have combined forces to create a kick off the holidays event in downtown Donalsonville on Saturday, December 7th.

Festivities will begin at 1 p.m. and continuing through the evening. The Spirit of Christmas Parade will begin at 6 p.m.

At 1 p.m., there will be a Santa Fun Run,   and all participants must wear some element of Santa Claus’ suit to run. Beginning at 2 p.m., the vendors will be open for business, so plan on a late lunch or early supper and get some Christmas shopping done.  “We will have basically the same children’s activities that we had planned for the Harvest Festival, our Motorcycle Stuntman is coming, Caliber Band will perform and Santa Claus will pose for pictures with the kids somewhere near the old Fire Station which will still have the Fine Art Show going on,” commented Chamber of Commerce President Sarah Avery.

If you would like to sign up to be a vendor or a volunteer for the festival call the Chamber at 229-524-2588. If you wish to submit an entry in the parade call Virginia Harrison at 229-400-3772.
