Citizens of Donalsonville and Seminole County will pay tribute to the late Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. on Monday, January 20. Line up for the annual 10 a.m. parade will be at Macedonia MB Church and it will travel down Second St. to the Seminole County Courthouse steps. After a brief program, the parade will travel to Live Oak African Methodist Episcopal Church for the 11 a.m. program. John Law of Thomasville will be the featured speaker. He serves as pastor of Allen-Bethlehem Church in Cedar Springs and Jerusalem AME Church in Blakely.
The annual event pays tribute to Dr. King, one of the greatest orators in American history who worked to raise public consciousness on human rights issues.
Monday afternoon, the day’s celebration will continue at the Community Center in Iron City with a MLK, Jr. program, beginning at 3:30 p.m. and followed by a march to Cypress Pond M.B. Church where Rev. Donald
Pollard serves as pastor. The speaker for this event will be Dr. Flossie Dianne Daniels.
