In front of former fire station on Woolfork Avenue in Donalsonville

A Farmers to Families Food Box distribution event, organized by the Donalsonville Lions Club, and in partnership with the USDA and Collins Brothers Corporation, will be held Saturday morning, July 11 beginning at 7:30 a.m. The free food box pickup event is for Seminole County residents only, and will be held directly in front of the historic fire station complex on Woolfork Avenue in downtown Donalsonville.

COVID-10 safety precautions will be in place and residents are requested to enter Woolfork Avenue from Second Street and remain in their vehicle at all times. Food boxes will be placed in car trunks and truck beds. Vehicles are to begin lining up, headed south on Woolfork Avenue, in front of the Donalsonville Police Department.

Each box will contain potatoes, sweet potatoes, onions, lettuce, cucumbers, oranges, apples, lemons and carrots.

The Farmers to Families Food Box program is a USDA partnership with farmers, food processors, distributors and non profit organizations to ensure that all Americans have access to the fresh and wholesome food they need during the COVID health emergency.
