Saturday, October 31, 4-6 p.m.
Traditional downtown trick or treating, with costumed characters walking the streets of Donalsonville, will not be happening this year, but a Downtown Donalsonville drive-
thru Trick or Treat parade will be! The Downtown Development Authority and the Chamber of Commerce are partnering to host the socially distanced Halloween event on Saturday, October 31st from 4 to 6 p.m. It will be a COVID-19 safety precaution stay in your car parade with no foot traffic.
Tables and treat stations will be set up along Second Street and local first responders, merchants and community volunteers – all wearing gloves and hopefully masks – will hand out candy and treats to kids in vehicles as they pass. Trick or treaters are encouraged to come in their best costumes!
Beginning at 4 p.m. on Saturday the 31st, vehicles filled with costumed trick or treaters will enter Second Street at Tennille Avenue and head west down Second Street to the Seminole County Courthouse.
For everyone’s safety, all trick or treaters must stay in a vehicle. Treats will be distributed by masked and gloved volunteers.
Organizers would love for all the merchants, churches, and individuals to participate. All you have to do is agree to oversee a treat station along Second Street and supply a volunteer or two to hand out candy and treats to kids in vehicles as they pass. Costumes and decorated vehicles are highly encouraged; let’s make this fun for our families!
The following individuals, groups, businesses and organizations have signed up to participate in passing out treats: Leslan’s Little and Crafts, PeoplesSouth Bank, Earlene Bramlett, Seminole County Sheriff Office, Donalsonville Police Department, Seminole County Commissioners office, Rocky Ridge Baptist Church, Mayor Ron Johnson, Friendship United Methodist Church, SunSouth, Donalsonville Women Center, Donalsonvillle Pediatrics, Seminole-Hartzog Pharmacy, Tracey Beard, 4-H Department, Oh So Jazzy and Co., Kindred Hospice and Home Health, and Seminole County EMS. Join them!
