Veterans Day Parade has been cancelled for this year

For the second time in the last three years, unforeseen events have caused the cancellation of the annual Veterans Day parade held each November 11th in downtown Donalsonville.

In 2018, devastation caused by Hurricane Michael forced its cancellation, and this year, safety precautions in place because of the COVID-19 Pandemic threat is the reason.

Out of an abundance of caution, parade organizers and representatives from American Legion Post 157 decided not to stage this year’s parade, as well as the Wednesday, November 11 Veteran’s Day ceremony.

The Donalsonville News’ Veterans Day Salute will not be affected by the cancellations and is scheduled as a special section in the November 5th edition your Donalsonville News.
