Alton Harrison named Market President of GCB

Alton Harrison has been named Market President of Georgia Community Bank (GCB)  in Donalsonville.

Harrison has more than four decades of banking experience including thirty nine years of experience in agriculture, commercial and mortgage lending.

In his banking career he has excelled in his roles as Market Manager, Branch Manager and City President for various financial institutions. Harrison is equally committed to community service, serving over the years as a Seminole County Commissioner, Donalsonville Lions Club officer and director for the Donalsonville-Seminole County Chamber of Commerce.

“Words cannot express my joy and excitement as I begin this new chapter in my life. I have come home again, and I am so looking forward to becoming a daily fixture in this community – as a banker, and a civic-minded volunteer.

Harrison and his wife Virginia, have one daughter, Hannah, and one soon-to-be grandchild on the way.

Although multiple branches only began doing business under the name of Georgia Community Bank in 2019, Georgia Community Bank’s roots run all the way back to September 8, 1922, when Citizens State Bank opened for business on Winston Street in downtown Reynolds, Georgia. Over the past nine decades, the bank has expanded its community banking presence to Seminole County, Terrell County, Lee County, Early County, and Crawford County.
