Grantham, Lawson qualify for state fishing tournament

When street rat Aladdin frees a genie from a lamp, he finds his wishes granted; however, he soon finds that the evil Jafar has other plans for the lamp — and for Princess Jasmine. But can Aladdin save Princess Jasmine and his love for her after she sees that he isn’t quite what he appears to be? The Seminole County Middle High School Chorus and Drama department invite you this weekend to come out and be transported into the Arabian Nights  and let the One Act Players take you on a walk  through the streets of Agrabah.

Since January, Seminole County’s One Act Players  have been spending long days in preparation to perform the musical Aladdin for competition and the community. Their efforts were rewarded in early February when their performance won the Georgia High School Association Region 1-A One Act Play competition. It’s time now for the community to reap the rewards of their efforts and see the production in person.

Aladdin opens this Friday evening, February 19, at 7 p.m. Saturday, February 20th, shows are at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m., and the final performance will be Sunday, February 21st, at 2 p. m. No tickets will be sold ahead of time. The doors open a hour before each show. Adult tickets are $10, students’ tickets are $5, and children young enough to sit in a lap are free. Masks are not required but highly encouraged. Seating will be limited, and social distancing will be practiced as much as possible. Hope to see you there!

For the 7 p.m. Friday, and 2 p.m. Saturday performances David Pollock will play Aladdin, Macy Batchelor will play Jasmine, and Caden Kearns will play Genie.
