The COVID-19 Pandemic has entered its second year and the past twelve months have been difficult and challenging for all of Seminole County and America. Fear and uncertainty are just two of the emotions experienced by all as the Coronavirus has spread throughout the community and the world. Like many hospitals throughout Georgia in the early days of COVID-19, Donalsonville Hospital took the voluntary step to temporarily halt all non-emergency procedures and cases until it could ensure its capacity and personal protective equipment supply could meet the demand of patients. The administration of Donalsonville Hospital is proud to say, “We have all done just that.”

Locally, the number of positives COVID-19 cases recorded by the hospital in the last weeks have been minimal. Donalsonville Hospital is open and treating patients through elective and medically necessary procedures, including routine surgeries, diagnostic imaging, and well visits.

Donalsonville Hospital has been a reliable and safe source of care for the Seminole County and southwest Georgia community for 102 years, and throughout this pandemic is has been no different. While these are unprecedented times in healthcare and the entire country, Donalsonville Hospital is ready and able to treat patients who need elective and medically necessary procedures that should not be delayed any longer. “Please do not postpone care due to fear of the COVID-19 virus,” commented a hospital spokesperson.

The following are just some of the ways Donalsonville Hospital is keeping you safe:

All healthcare personnel and visitors are screened for COVID-19 Symptoms (including fever) prior to entering the hospital. Patients with COVID-19 are isolated from other patients. When appropriate, PPE including masks, gowns, and gloves are worn by our clinical staff. Handwashing with soap and water or hand sanitizer gel is strictly enforced. Healthcare workers and all hospital employees have been offered the COVID-19 Vaccine.

The medical staff at Donalsonville Hospital is dedicated to providing the care you need with the utmost attention to safety. Its providers continue to follow best practices with sanitizing patient exam rooms and waiting areas as well as screening patients.

It is now more important than ever to pay attention to your overall health. Hospital administrators added, “Do not put off your annual check-ups, do not delay your colonoscopy or mammograms, and continue to strive for good health as we work to overcome this virus.”

We look forward to seeing you soon,

Chuck Orrick
