Seminole County School Resource Officer (SRO) Jeffrey Lawson has organized a Mass Casualty Incident Drill that will take place Thursday, April 1 on Highway 39 in front of the Seminole County Middle High School beginning at 9:30 a.m.
This incident drill will allow first responders to practice crucial skills that would be used in the event of an actual mass casualty occurrence. Numerous agencies will be participating in the drill including the Seminole County Sheriff’s Office, the Donalsonville Police Department, the Georgia State Patrol, the Donalsonville Fire Department, South Georgia EMS, and Survival Flight Air Ambulance Service.
The Seminole County Middle High School Student Council sponsored a Back the Blue and First Responders parade and luncheon on Wednesday, March 31. The members of the Student Council felt that it was important to acknowledge the hard work and dedication of each department that works for the safety of the residents of Donalsonville and Seminole County. Student Council President Parth Patel, who won $500 in the “Cow Patty Bingo” contest that the Seminole County Athletic Booster Club sponsored earlier in the month, donated his prize money to feed the participants. SCMHS faculty member Dusty Smith prepared the meal and SRO Jeffery Lawson helped organize the event.
