Seminole County School Superintendent Mark Earnest has announced that Truett Johnson, former Seminole County Middle-High School Assistant Principal, is the new principal at Seminole County Elementary School. Johnson was appointed to the position by the Board of Education this week to fill the vacancy created by the resignation of SCES Principal Jay Winkler.
“We are excited about Truette Johnson being the next principal at Seminole County Elementary. Truette is Seminole through and through,” commented Earnest.
Johnson is a graduate of the Seminole County and has taught almost his entire career in the district. He is very familiar with SCES, having served almost 20 years as a member of its faculty.
Earnest added, “Truett has become a very good instructional leader and this is key to becoming an
effective school leader. He will do a great job as our elementary school principal.”
Seminole County Alternative School Director Gary Lowery will move into the SCMHS Assistant Princiapl post formerly held by Johnson.
