Diamond Indians open state tourney at home Thursday, April 29

UPDATE: Indians win opening round double header and advance to second round.

GHSA baseball state playoff brackets have been released and the Seminole County Diamond Indians will face the  Treutlin Vikings  from Soperton in the first round of the state tournament at home on Thursday, April 29 at 3 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. The teams will play a best-of-three series, with the doubleheader on Thursday, and game three, if necessary, on Friday, April 30th. 

The Indians open the state tournament as the number one seed in Region 1A with an overall record of 23-6 and 15-1 record in region play. 

The Vikings, the fourth seeded team from Region 4A, have  a record of 13-12 overall and 13-8 in their region.

After not having a full season in 2020, baseball is much more appreciated being played in 2021. Nine area teams have clinched a spot in the state baseball playoffs.
