Seminole County Farm Tour set for June 9

Secure your spot on the tour! Register by June 4. Have you ever thought about how the food you eat goes from the field to the dinner plate? If so, the 2021 Seminole County Farm Tour is the perfect opportunity to take a tour and see firsthand how it is done. This event will include a visit to see an aerial applicator (crop duster), a stop by a cotton and soybean field, and a tour of a turfgrass sod farm. This should be a great tour and will include refreshments along the way, and a bag lunch provided by the tour’s local sponsors during the tour. The 2021 Seminole County Farm Tour is set for Wednesday, June 9 from 8 a.m. until 1 p.m. The tour will begin with a sign in from 8:00 to 8:30 a.m. at the Seminole County Agricultural Center located at 3041 Town and Country Road in Donalsonville. Opening and closing remarks will also be held at the Ag Center. Although this is a free event, pre-registration is required for preparations in transportation by bus, and food arrangements. The deadline for registration is 5 p.m. on June 4. If you need special accommodations due to a disability, contact the UGA Seminole County Extension Office at (229) 524-2326 five days prior to the tour.
