Seminole County and the University of Georgia basketball standout Jordan Harris has signed his first professional basketball contract and is headed to Scotland to play for the The Glasgow Rocks in the upcoming 2021/22 season.
The Rocks, a professional basketball club in Glasgow, Scotland, competes in the British Basketball League, the top tier of British basketball. Since 2012, the Rocks have played their home games at the Emirates Arena in Glasgow. The Rocks’ traditional rivals are the Newcastle Eagles.
Harris commented, “I’m extremely excited to start my professional career in Scotland. I want to thank God, my family, my community, and the University of Georgia for all the love and support. My message to the youth: I need all of you continue to help each other, and inspire one another because at the end of the day that is what it’s all about.”
Harris, now 23 years old, strands tall at six feet, five inches. He is a 2016 graduate from Seminole County Middle High School where he was a four year basketball standout. Harris was a four year member of the All Region and All State teams, three time Region Player of the Year, State Player of the Year and a member of the 2015 Seminole County GHSA State basketball championship team.
After high school, he went on to play successfully in the NCAA for four years as a member of the University of Georgia Basketball Dawgs.
Jordan is the son of Erica Harris of Donalsonville.
