The last day to register to vote or to change your address for voter registration purposes for the General Election/Special Election to be held on Tuesday, November 2, is Monday, October 4. All Seminole County residents 17 ½ years of age and older are encouraged to register to vote and to check the accuracy of your current registration information, provided you have no legal impediment.
When qualifying ended at 6 p.m. last Friday, August 20, nine citizens had filed the proper paperwork and qualified for election or reelection to Municipal Posts in the City of Donalsonville and the Town of Iron City for the November 2 General Election.
Incumbent Donalsonville City Council members Mayor Pro Tem Ed Bond, and Council Person Moses James will be the only two candidates facing opposition.
Amy Williams is challenging Mayor Pro Tem Ed Bond for the District 1, Post 3 council seat, and former City Council Person Mitzy Moye is challenging Council Person Moses James for the District 1, Post 1 council seat.
Donalsonville Mayor Ron Johnson, District 2, Post 6 Council Person Flossie Daniels Smith, and District 2, Post 4 Council Person Lindsey Register qualified without opposition. Lanny Williams and Jackson Bryce Buchanan also qualified without opposition for two Town of Iron City council posts.
