Abigail Grantham to compete in Miss Troy University pageant

Miss Donalsonville Abigail Grantham will compete for the title of Miss Troy University this Saturday, January 29. The pageant will be held  at 5 p.m. Central Standard Time in the Trojan Center Theatre on Troy University’s campus.

Contestants in this official preliminary for the Miss Alabama pageant will be judged on talent, interview and evening gown.

“I am so excited to have the opportunity to compete for the title of Miss Troy University! I am glad that I am finally able to get into a pageant system that has a talent portion of competition,” commented Abigail.

She will be singing a Spanish Aria, one that she sang when she was girls’ soloist at Seminole County Middle High School.

On Tuesday, all of the contestants met with Troy’s Chancellor Dr. Jack Hawkins, Jr. and his wife for a tea to kick off the week of Miss Troy University festivities. Contestants will have practices and dress rehearsals each day this week.

Abigail added, “This pageant is a part of the Miss America Organization. This means that if I win this local preliminary, I will compete for the title of Miss Alabama, and if I were to win Miss Alabama, I would have the privilege of competing for the title of Miss America! Prayers and well-wishes are appreciated this week and weekend!”

Abigail, the daughter of Holly and Bradley Grantham of Donalsonville, is a Sophomore at Troy University majoring in English Education.
