Middle High School switches to distance learning due to staff shortages


In person learning to resume on Monday, January 31 

Due to staffing shortages related to COVID-19 the Seminole County Board of Education made the decision to close Seminole County Schools last Friday, January 21.  Seminole County Elementary School, Pre K through fifth grade, resumed face-to-face instruction the following Monday, January 24. However, Seminole County Middle High School, grades six through twelve, transitioned to a distance learning model the week of Monday, January 24 through Friday, January 28. 

Face-to-face instruction is scheduled to resume on Monday, January 31st for all SCMHS students. A Distance Learning Guide for all Seminole County Middle High School students can be found on the school’s website at 

At the time of the announcement it was reported that all extracurricular activities would continue as planned as long as staffing can be maintained.
