April is Child Abuse Prevention Month and Seminole County Family Connection has teamed up with Seminole County 4-H members to plant a pinwheel garden as a reminder to the community to do their part in the prevention of child abuse. Seminole County Family Connection is offering an opportunity to help educate community members on ways to prevent and recognize child abuse. Its Darkness to Light program is dedicated to helping bring awareness to communities about the subject of child abuse prevention. “The program provides information to empower adults to prevent, recognize, and react responsibly to child sexual abuse through awareness, education, and stigma reduction.” Additional information about the program can be found at d2l.org.

Through the month of April Family Connection is offering agencies and individuals training in the Darkness to Light’s Stewards of Children program free of charge. If you are interested in this free training, contact Family Conection Coordinator Billie McLendon at 229-309-0531 or scfamilyconnection@gmail.com
