Lady Indians and Indians capture Region tennis titles

Aced it!

The Seminole County Middle High School Indians and Lady Indians lobbed, volleyed and served their way to region titles earlier this week on the courts in Bainbridge.

The girls’ team defeated Baconton 3-0, and the boys’  team defeated Pelham 3-0 to capture the Region titles and advance into the state tournament.

The Lady Indians are 15-1 this season and will open the Georgia High School Association State Championship tournament at home in a match with Metter High School on Tuesday, April 19 at 1 p.m.

The defending State Tennis Champion Indians are 13-3 this season and will also open the state tournament at home in a match with Claxton High School. The boys’ match will begin at 3 p.m. on Tuesday.

This year’s Indian team consists of Jeb Burke, Bryson Grantham, William Fain, Rudra Patel, Ethan Gravlee, Andrew Gravlee, and Landon Kirkland. This year’s Lady Indains are  Arabella Touchton, Kendall Denham, Addie Holt, Ava Godwin, Hillary Bell, Sara Jo Fain, Maggie Palmer, and Ashlyn Thompson. Both teams are coached by Tina Fain and Jim Palmer.
