SCMHS Band and Chorus have a universal experience in Orlando

Seminole County Middle/High School Band and Chorus students had the exciting opportunity to travel to Orlando, Florida recently for a weekend of performance art experiences. They enjoyed an evening of interactive investigation at Sleuth Dinner Theatre. Sunday morning was a unique opportunity to participate in a Sound Design Workshop in a real working studio at Universal. The two groups combined their performance skills to record their very own underscore, vocals, and ADR (audio dialogue replacement) for a scene from the movie “Despicable Me” while learning about the many career  opportunities in filmmaking for performance artists of all kinds. Of course they made time to enjoy the thrill of Universal Studios theme parks throughout the weekend. The trip was an incredible bonding experience for the two performance departments and a thrilling way to end the school year.

Together, the band and chorus would like to thank the supporters who helped to make this a successful trip, including Southern Coaches Transportation of Dothan, Florida and Beyond Travel Group of Orlando, the Universal Youth Program, and all the wonderful directors, staff, families, and fans of
