PeoplesSouth Bank, a community bank headquartered in Colquitt, Georgia with thirty-one full-service locations in Alabama, Georgia, and Florida, has announced the appointment of M. Scott Brookins to the Bank’s Board of Directors. “Scott has demonstrated over the years through his senior care services and successful business ventures that his leadership skills are exceptional. Like senior care, Community Banking is a people business, and Scott cares deeply about people. As a bank director at PeoplesSouth Bank, I know that Scott is committed to our customers, employees, and shareholders. He understands how important the Bank’s role is in the communities we serve,” stated Caleb Stuckey, PeoplesSouth Bank President. Scott was born in Dothan, Alabama and was raised in southwest Georgia. After receiving his bachelor’s degree from the University of Georgia in 1994, he founded Brookins Elderserve, a senior living development company. Brookins Elderserve and its affiliated entities have developed assisted living facilities and memory care facilities in Florida and Alabama. He currently owns and operates Grand South Senior Living in Dothan, Alabama. Scott and his wife, Jennifer, have three children and have lived in Tallahassee, Florida since 1996.
