Donalsonville appoints Jeffrey Hatcher as City Manager

The City Council of Donalsonville appointed Jeffrey Hatcher to the position of City Manager during their regularly scheduled meeting on June 6th, 2023. Mr. Hatcher has served as Interim City Manager since March of this year. With this appointment, the City now has a full-time City Manager to replace Steve Hicks, who retired in October 2022.

City Manager Hatcher has been employed with the City of Donalsonville since June 2018. After leaving the Seminole County School System, Hatcher began his career with the City as part of the eDonalsonville project. Hatcher then included Information Technology work within the City as part of his Communications Director position.

Hatcher grew up in Seminole County and graduated from Seminole County High School. He has one son, who also graduated from Seminole County Schools. This family connection spurred Hatcher to apply for the City Manager position.

City Manager Hatcher has begun working with staff to improve services and deliver more to residents of Donalsonville. City Manager Hatcher stated: “I want to see Donalsonville thrive. We have lots of good people whom all have great ideas for Donalsonville, and they deserve to have a voice in the future growth of our City.”

To achieve this goal, Hatcher has begun working with various members of the City and County to develop a Master Plan for the growth of Donalsonville and the region. This Master Plan includes housing, economic development, recreation, and government services initiatives. It is being completed in cooperation with the Regional Commission in Camilla.
