Fireworks celebrations scheduled in all directions
Independence Day fireworks celebrations have been scheduled just a short drive away in all directions in the following nearby communities.
Lake Seminole
Pop’s Dockside Grill will host their fifth annual 4th of July Event on Saturday, July 1. There will be a water slide for the kids, hot food, cold beer for the adults and lots of family fun. Live music by Jake Vinson starts at 7:00 p.m., followed by fireworks. No admission fee. Pop’s is located at 3371 Ga. Hwy. 253 on beautiful Lake Seminole.
Bainbridge
The City of Bainbridge will host their 4th of July Celebration on Tuesday, July 4, beginning at 5:00 p.m. at the Earle May Boat Basin. Along with the fireworks display, Craig Morgan will be live in concert, along with vendors and kids activities.
Blakely
Firecracker Festival will be held at the Ray Knight Sportsplex in Blakely on Thursday, June 29, beginning at 5:00 p.m. There will be food vendors, a giant slide, bounce houses, games and music. The fireworks display will begin at dark. Bring your chairs and blankets.
Colquitt
Freedom Fest will take place Sunday, July 2, at Spring Creek Park, located at 154 West Street in Colquitt. This free admission event will begin at 6 p.m., so bring your lawn chairs, bring your friends and family, and enjoy a picnic in the park with music, food trucks, fellowship, fun, inflatables for the kids and fireworks. Dothan
Fireworks at The Fairgrounds of the National Peanut Festival will be held on Saturday, July 1. Gates open at 5:00. Along with the fireworks, there will be vendors, music, free Birdsong watermelon slices, free children’s train rides, free photo booth pics, car show on site, Uncle Sam on stilts, Bobert the Balloon Guy, antique tractors, firetruck display, helicopter display and a dunking booth. Bring your cameras, American flags, folding chairs and blankets. Parking is $10 per car load and 100% is donated to the Wiregrass United Way. The fairgrounds are located at 5622 US Hwy 231 South, Dothan.
Fort Gaines
Fireworks at the Fort will be held in Fort Gaines on Tuesday, July 4, beginning at dusk, on Hwy. 39 North at the East Bank behind the Army Corps of Engineers Office. Parking will be available on the Georgia side of Walter F. George Dam. As an added bonus, you may tune into radio station 91.1 FM to enjoy this year’s show with patriotic music.
Marianna
Marianna is thrilled to announce its highly anticipated July 3rd Celebration at the MERE Complex on Caverns Road, set to take place on Monday, July 3. This event promises an evening filled with excitement, entertainment, and an awe-inspiring fireworks display that will leave attendees mesmerized. This event has been drawing large crowds from the tri-state area and is highly anticipated by the community!
The festivities will kick off at 5:00 pm, as Marianna welcomes residents and visitors alike to join in the merriment. One of the baseball fields will be transformed into an inflatable water park venue, complete with an array of wet and dry activities for children! We will also have face painting available, and children’s activities sponsored by our local 4-H club!
Guests can look forward to an assortment of delectable food vendors offering a diverse range of culinary delights to satisfy every palate. From mouthwatering street food to indulgent desserts, the event will cater to all tastes, ensuring a memorable culinary experience.
In addition to the food and children’s activities, the July 3rd Celebration will feature live music performances by renowned local artists, providing a lively backdrop to the festivities. Talented musicians JD Taylor, Anna Wescoat, and Hunter Wall will be the prime-time entertainment this year! JD Taylor takes the stage at 5:00 p.m., Anna Wescoat at 6:00 p.m., and Hunter Wall from 7:00 pm – 9:00 p.m. The captivating melodies and infectious rhythms will create an atmosphere of celebration and joy, inspiring attendees to dance and sing along.
The highlight of the evening will undoubtedly be the spectacular fireworks display scheduled for 8:45 p.m. A symphony of lights and colors will illuminate the night sky, enchanting spectators and evoking a sense of wonder and awe. The fireworks will be launched from behind the t-ball field on the right side of FCI Road as you enter off Caverns Road. The breathtaking showcase promises to be a memorable experience for all who attend!
