Temporary moratorium established on vape shops

The Mayor and Council of the City of Donalsonville passed a Resolution at the last City Council meeting to temporarily restrict approval of applications for convenience store business licenses that include vape or coin-operated amusement devices. This Resolution will be in effect until November 8, 2023 or until repealed.

Donalsonville City Manager Jeffrey Hatcher commented, “This was passed by the Council to allow city staff adequate time to review existing Ordinances and make any changes that are needed to protect the health and safety of residents and to promote economic development within the City of Donalsonville.”

Any changes to Ordinances will be required to have two readings at City Council meetings and then be approved by the Council.
