Qualifying ends for Donalsonville and Iron City municipal posts

The qualifying period to put your name on the ballot in the November 7, 2023, City of Donalsonville and Town of Iron City’s municipal elections ended Friday, August 25 at 4:30 p.m.

City of Donalsonville

The City of Donalsonville had two council posts up for re-election – District One, Post 2, currently represented by Travis Brooks, and District Two, Post 5, currently represented by Mitchell Blanks.

Incumbent Council Person Travis Brooks qualified for re-election to the District One, Post 2 seat, and he will run unopposed.

Incumbent Council Person Mitchell Blanks qualified for re-election to the District Two, Post 5 seat; however, he will be challenged by Lillian Harris who also qualified for the District Two, Post 5 seat

Town of Iron City

In the Town of Iron City offices up for re-election were the Office of Mayor, currently held by Ronnie Ingram, Council Post 1, currently represented by Zack Conoly, and Council Post 3, currently represented by John Gray.

Incumbent Mayor Ronnie Ingram, and Post 3 Incumbent Council Person John Gray chose not to run for re-election.

Zack Conoly, current Council Person representing Post 1 qualified to run for the Office of Mayor. He will run unopposed.

Laura Croom and Kevin Lovering qualified to run for Council Person Post 1 and Council Person Post 3.

Croom and Lovering will run unopposed.
