Resolve to be kinder and care more this year
I don’t know about you, but I believe that 2013 can be one of the most exciting and rewarding years of our lives. Forget the failures, the storms, and disappointments of the past, and let’s focus on the great things in store for us this year!
Too long we have been constantly dwelling on our problems or things that have happened in the past. As stated in Proverbs 4:25 New International Version, “Let your eyes look straight ahead, fix your gaze directly before you” – and I interpret that as the best is yet to come.
2013 – A New Year with New Possibilities. The world did not end on December 21, 2012, not that I ever thought it would. The Myan calendar reached the end of a cycle and it is now time to start a new one. The Science of Numerology tells us that 2013 can be a loving, caring year if we choose to be responsible, humane, and compassionate in everything we do.
When you take all the numbers in 2013 and add them up you get six. So this year is classified as a number six year in numerology terms. The number six is the most loving, affectionate number and it is connected to the element of metal, which signifies bravery and riches. So it has the ability to empower us to stand up for our beliefs and create wealth humanely. Sounds good to me.
Chinese Astrology tells us 2013 is the year of the water snake, and all things will be possible. The snake is associated with beauty and wisdom. These snakes are believed to embody esoteric knowledge and spiritual discovery, which is why they are sacred to many ancient cultures around the globe.
This numerology and astrology thing for many is hocus-pocus and it is true no one can really predict what the future holds for us. History has shown us that there have been oracles who foretell what will happen to us and many things have come true. So, we do not know for sure what may come. We just have to dream and believe.
Personally, I do not live my life based on any predictions because there are so many variables in how I choose to live each day and the choices of all those on this earth.
I like the idea of this year being a loving caring year. Remember, giving to others and being caring and kind is of paramount importance for a healthy life and planet.
Being kind and caring actually creates good health. A kinder person is happier and studies have shown a kinder person actually ages slower. Being kind and full of compassion creates a healthy heart and creates less stress. Lower stress levels help our bodies produce more of the oxytocin hormone that releases more nitric oxide into our blood vessels, which expands the blood vessels and reduces blood pressure. Oxytocin is known as a “cardio-protective” hormone because it protects the heart by lowering blood pressure.
So you see, showing kindness makes us healthier and creates better relationships. And I know this for an absolute fact, kindness is contagious.
Try it and find out for yourself and may the remainder of 2013 be the loveliest and the kindest of years for you and all of us.
