Spirit of Christmas Parade arrives Dec.2nd

 

Little Miss Donalsonville, Laney Grace Kelley is excited and ready to be the Grand Marshal of this year’s Spirit of Christmas Parade’s in downtown Donalsonville

Pictures with Santa from 4-5:30 p.m. Parade begins at 6 p.m. Tree lighting to follow

Santa Claus’ arrival, the Spirit of Christmas Parade and the Seminole County Warpath on Cancer’s tree lighting ceremony are all happening in downtown Donalsonville this evening, Thursday, December 2nd. The annual Spirit of Christmas parade and the jolly elf himself will roll into town at 6 p.m. Lineup for the parade begins at 5 p.m. at the Seminole County
Elementary School. 

Once the parade begins, it will travel north on Wiley Avenue, cross over U.S. Highway 84 and then turn east and continue through downtown along Second Avenue. Food vendors will be located along Second Street.

Santa will be available to pose for photos before the parade from 4 to 5:30 p.m.. He will be set up on the sidewalk in front of Broome Interiors on Second Street.

Kelley will be the parade’s Grand Marshal. Laney is the seven-year-old daughter of Marty and Tabatha Kelley of Colquitt. Laney has thoroughly enjoyed serving as Little Miss Donalsonville for the past two years along side Miss Donalsonville, Abigail Grantham, and her fellow sister queens, including her real life sister, Young Jr. Miss Donalsonville, Abby
Kelley. 

Again this year, the lighting of the Seminole County Warpath on Cancer’s Tree of Hope will be on the corner of Tennille Avenue and U.S. Highway 84. Immediately after the parade, the Seminole Singers will perform and the lighting ceremony will follow. The tree will be lit this year by cancer survivor Jarrod Sexton.

Bundle up, bring the whole family and make an It’s a Wonderful Life night of it in Donalsonville.
