Local Scouts do a good turn downtown

Boy Scout Troop 700 has been hard at work over the Summer whether it has been placing flags along 84, or helping out at the Friendship Store. Most recently, the boys lived out the Scout slogan of “Do a good turn daily”, by picking up trash along Wiley Avenue. Troop 700 has a designated stretch of this road and have scheduled trash pick ups throughout the year. The boys are taught to learn, understand and live out the Scout oath, motto, and slogan. All three of show utmost importance to doing works of service in the community. These are just a few of the ways these boys are developing into young men and understanding the need for helping.

Participating in the trash pick up were Scouts Avery Smith, Luke Foster, Tommy Johnson, Kayden Peter, Kane Peter, Bowen Lane, Jackson Guimares, and Scout leaders Rob Smith and Tony Guimares.

If you are interested in joining the troop or even volunteering with this troop, please reach out to Mitch Royals at 229-416-5347. Please note there is also a Cub Scout Pack 700 for elementary school age children as well.
