Share the love and shop locally this Valentine’s Day

For young love, old love, and everyone in between – there’s no sweeter way to share your love with your significant other and the entire community than by shopping local for Valentine’s Day! When you keep your dollars local, you create a stronger, more vibrant community, and isn’t that the best gift of all?

Valentine’s Day is one of the biggest gift-giving holidays of the year. Shopping at local businesses helps people who are ultimately your neighbors. Because local businesses hire people from within the community and have a tendency to be more involved with what’s going on around them, you’re helping support the area you live in as a whole. Plus, you can rest easy knowing that you went out of your way to support the individuals within your community rather than some large, faceless corporation.

With big businesses, it isn’t always clear just where exactly a product comes from or whether or not you’re getting something quality. Local businesses work to create long-lasting relationships with their customers and pride themselves in being able to express complete knowledge of the products they offer. Shopping local means a more intimate knowledge of what you’re spending your hard earned money on.

There’s something to be said about the traditional experience of strolling around town and poking your head into little local shops. Chatting with the store owners and employees and learning to really understand their passion for their industry is something you just won’t find at bigger retailers and who knows — you may find something unique that just isn’t sold at the big box stores.

Seminole County merchants, recognizing their customers will shop for both price and value, are offering a wide selection of gifts and promotions this year to surely make that special someone’s heart beat a little faster.

Share the love and shop locally this Valentine’s Day. If you are looking for jewelry, gift baskets, unique gifts, red roses, fresh flowers, plants, balloons, scented oils, cards, stuffed animals, chocolates and other candies, dinner for two, candles, purses and accessories, lingerie or apparel, -you can find all of that and more right here in Seminole County.

Talk about a sweetheart gift! If every family in the country shifted $100 of their Valentine’s Day shopping budget to locally owned, independent businesses over $7.8 billion would be directly returned to local communities. By shifting just a portion of your spending, you can help create more jobs and a stronger economy.

Let’s show our local businesses a little love this sweetheart season and do our part in helping us all have a Happy Valentine’s Day!
