First Port City Bank recently contributed $10,000 to Donalsonville Hospital through the Georgia HEART Hospital Program.
“We are grateful for community partners like First Port City Bank whose generous financial support will allow Donalsonville Hospital to provide excellent healthcare to its patients both now and in the future,” stated James Moody, Hospital Administrator.
HEART funds help provide and maintain the services that Donalsonville Hospital has implemented over the years including physical therapy, respiratory therapy, 24-hour emergency room coverage, labor and delivery, and upgrading and maintaining state-of-the-art technology like Dexascans, 3D mammography, CT scans, and more.
“Our company is proud to participate in the Georgia HEART program and we are committed to doing our part to advance access to quality care for Georgians who live in rural communities,” said Nancy Jernigan, First Port City Bank Executive Vice President, and Seminole Market President. “We are pleased to support Donalsonville Hospital and hope that other companies join us in ‘taking HEART’ for their local rural hospitals. This program is a win-win for local businesses.” Through HEART, Georgia taxpayers can contribute in exchange for a 100% state income tax credit, up to specified limits, to qualified rural hospitals of their choice. C Corporations and pass-through business owners who participate may also qualify for an additional federal business expense deduction.
