Donalsonville Queens roll out the red carpet for fellow Peanut Pageant contestants
Southern Hospitality and Seminole County charm was on full display last Saturday when Miss Donalsonville Trinity Poague and Little Miss Donalsonville Kate Shingler, contestants in the upcoming 2023 Miss and Little Miss National Peanut Pageants, hosted a reception to welcome their fellow pageant contestants to Donalsonville.
Trinity and Kate welcomed sister queens from Alabama and Florida at the Osceola Event Company, located in the historic Osceola Hotel in downtown Donalsonville from 2 to 4 p.m.
The queens were greeted with a red carpet entrance and lavish decor by Rodney Rogers, served a delicious spread by Dell Shingler and family, and entertained with dancing and a “toast” to wish them all good luck in October’s competition. Also in attendance was Donalsonville’s very own Miss Troy University, Abigail Grantham, who shared with the contestants her memories and best tips from her experience at the National Peanut Festival Pageant.
The Donalsonville Queens also used the opportunity to collect donations for the Animal Rescue Alliance.
Kate and Trinity would like to give a special thank you to Osceola Event Company for hosting the event, and for the following who all helped to make the event the success it was: Donalsonville Downtown Development Authority, Donalsonville/Seminole County Chamber of Commerce, Front Porch Marketplace, Signs & Stuff, Broome Interiors, Bishops Jewelers, First Port City Bank, PeoplesSouth Bank, Georgia Community Bank, Rodeo Mexican Restaurant, Donalsonville Hospital, the Ladies of Friendship Methodist Church, Badcock Furniture, City of Donalsonville and the Donalsonville News.
