One injured in Iron City train and truck crash

A truck-train accident happened Thursday evening, June 27 near the area of Dunham Street and Hagen Still Road in Iron City, according to the Seminole County Volunteer Fire and Rescue and the Georgia State Patrol (GSP).

GSP says the vehicle, a Chevrolet Colorado, was heading south on Hagen Still Road and the CSX train was traveling east heading towards Iron City. The driver allegedly attempted to cross the tracks before the train got to the intersection and was struck on the passenger side of the truck bed.

The driver involved in the crash with a train in Seminole County is suspected to have been under the influence, according to GSP.

The driver was conscious, but injured and was flown to Tallahassee for treatment, per the incident report.

The train crossing was shut down and was scheduled to reopen once all safety concerns are addressed.

GSP is still investigating.
