It’s Rodeo Week!!!
The Donalsonville – Seminole County Chamber of Commerce proudly presents its biggest event of the year, the 10th annual Boots & Roots Rodeo this Friday and Saturday, April 24th and 25th. The IPRA (International Pro Rodeo Association) rodeo will be held at Seminole Industrial Park located at 2841 Ash Crossing Road just east of Donalsonville.
Chamber President Kadie Matthews commented, “We had a record-breaking turnout for our most recent rodeo back in April 2025, with our largest number for ticket sales yet from Seminole and the surrounding counties, and we are so very proud to continue to stage such a fun, family friendly community event!”
Once again, the Chamber has contracted with T-T Rodeo Company, owned by Justin Thigpen. Justin Thigpen is one of the most decorated cowboys in IPRA history. He has 22 IFR qualifications to his credit. Justin has added more world titles to his resume in steer wrestling and the tie-down roping bringing the total to eight steer wrestling world titles, one team roping, and 11 tie-down world titles and six all-around cowboy titles and is the current All Around leader.
The Boots & Roots Rodeo featured events will include calf roping, wrestling, saddle bronc riding, barrel racing, team roping, bull riding, bareback riding, calf scramble, cowgirl breakaway roping, diamond dash, and clowns.
You will want to come out early and have dinner at one of the event’s food vendors which will include BBQ, hamburgers, hot dogs, loaded fries, seafood, nachos, cowboy egg roll, cotton candy, funnel cakes, and a whole lot more.
Also, there will be bounce houses and a mechanical bull for the kids to enjoy, as well as rodeo T-shirts for $15, western themed vendors, children’s toys, a rodeo themed photo booth and more!

Events like the rodeo bring visitors into our community and provide our citizens a time to celebrate and be entertained in their hometown and county. Named as a salute to Seminole County’s farmers and agri-businesses, the Boots & Roots Rodeo benefits the local Chamber of Commerce and the youth of our community, as a portion of proceeds is donated to them. The rodeo is a great family friendly event for all ages to enjoy!
