Seminole County Family Connection is prepping for back-to-school and packing backpacks with hygiene products to be distributed during the School Supply Scramble which takes place during Seminole County Elementary School’s Open House event on July 29. This is the fifth year of the School Supply Scramble. This year, the school will supply all school supplies for students at the elementary school.
The collaborative has also set up care closets at the school and all students in the district will have access to stocked hygiene products throughout the school year.
Bianca Bright, District Social Worker stated, “While working with families I have seen them very grateful for these products so that families can address other needs. Kids at school also are thankful to know they can receive these resources when needed.”
Local churches and businesses helped collect items for the School Supply Scramble and the collaborative would like to thank First Baptist Church of Donalsonville, First Presbyterian Church of Donalsonville, Golden Triangle RD&C, Hammock Springs Free Will Baptist, and Friendship Methodist Church for bringing hygiene products to place in backpacks.
The First Presbyterian Church of Donalsonville’s Youth Group and Brenda Barber also helped pack the 600 backpacks that will be distributed at the event on July 29th from 4:30 p.m. until 7:30 p.m.
