SCMHS recognized as a 2024 Breakout High School

Georgia Association of Secondary School Principals (GASSP) has a yearly program to recognize outstanding middle schools throughout the state. The criteria the schools must meet and demonstrate through documented evidence are: collaborative leadership, personalization and curriculum, instruction and assessment. The pool of applicants has grown each year and a committee of state principals reviews each application and scores them based on a rubric.
This year GASSP recognized Seminole County Middle/High School as one of its Breakout High Schools. SCMHS was recognized as a top performing school in the state of Georgia, and was invited to present a special session at the GASSP Fall Conference in order to share its success stories.
GASSP also awarded SCMHS with a distinguished level designation. The school was chosen from the applicant pool of schools offering quality evidence and supporting documentation in their application that confirmed a demonstrated commitment to meeting the needs of all students.
The school received an award to display in the building along with a $1000 donation. The award was accepted by Principal Mary Albritton during the recent GASSP Fall Conference in Savannah, Georgia.
Congratulations to the faculty, students and community of Seminole County Middle/High School on this outstanding award and achievement!
