Community’s generosity makes season brighter for Seminole Manor residents
Residents’ Angel Tree brings the giving spirit to DonalsonvilleNursing Home
Seminole Manor Nursing Home administration and staff work tirelessly each day, and especially during the holidays to bring joy to the special group of residents in their facility during the holidays. Each year they set up a residents’ Angel Tree in the facility’s foyer and invite the public to come out and choose a tag from the tree, purchase a gift for the tag’s assigned resident, and experience the joy of making that person feel merry and bright this holiday season. Each tag provided needed information about a resident without giving their name.
Hoping to get support from the local community they promoted the tree in the Donalsonville News and placed flyers on bulletin boards around town. The response they received was overwhelming, and with the generous public support, multiple gifts were under the tree for every single resident in the nursing home when they opened them during their annual Christmas party last week..
“Our community embraced the Christmas spirit to uplift our residents’ spirit during this season of giving and help make it the most wonderful time of the year for all of us. The people in our community went above and beyond the call of duty making Christmas extra special, and a holly jolly, magical event for all of our residents. This was a grand event for the residents and all gifts and donations were so greatly appreciated,” added Hines.
