More than six tons of trash removed from county roadsides
Seminole County’s ongoing trash the trash campaign is continuing.
Seminole County Sheriff officer Matt Bagwell has been overseeing a Seminole County inmate crew picking up trash in and around public areas and along all county roads.
In the first week of the trash pickup detail they picked up over 13,000 pounds of trash – tires, toilets, furniture, mattresses and other household stuff – all illegally discarded along county roadways.
Fines will be imposed by Seminole County if any identifiable owner information is found within the collected debris.
Trash collections and unsightly areas on private property will also be addressed individually with each property owner.
Once determined as a violation, the Seminole County Code Enforcement will be writing citations in all cases.
