Houston Academy awards Lewis Carter IV, names AV Booth in his honor

Senior Awards Day was held in Houston Academy’s new auditorium recently where the facility’s Audio Visual Control Booth now bears Lewis M. Carter IV’s name in recognition and thanks for his many hours helping design and install its control systems.

The announcement of the naming of the booth in Carter’s honor was the icing on the cake for him at the Awards Day ceremony as he was also presented with the Ronald Reagan Leadership Medal. Headmaster of the school, Dr. Vince Janney, is shown above presenting Carter the prestigious medal. To be nominated by the school for the Ronald Reagan Leadership Medal a student must exemplify  the values of drive, humility and service before self.

Carter was also presented with honors for community service, fine arts, athletics, and for his work as a Raider Ambassador.

Lewis, who plans to attend Auburn University, is the son of Marcus and Katrice Carter, and the grandson of Lewis and Betty Carter and Tommy and Cheryl Newberry.
