Avery Smith achieves Eagle Scout Rank

Avery Smith recently earned the rank of Eagle Scout, the highest and most coveted rank advancement award of Scouts BSA. He is a member of Troop 700 and is one of only approximately four percent of all Scouts who attain the rank of Eagle Scout. He was presented with the award in a Court of Honor ceremony at Trinity Crossroads Church on September 30, 2023. 

To achieve the rank of Eagle, a Scout must earn a minimum of 21 merit badges as well as demonstrate leadership, including successfully planning and completing a community service project. For his project, Avery installed a flagpole at his church. 

Avery is a Senior at Southwest Georgia Academy, where he is a member of the football and track teams. He is the son of Rob and Candi Smith and grandson of Elaine Jones, all of Donalsonville.
