For months now, a buzz of activity has been evident on Second Street in downtown Donalsonville as The Osceola Hotel renovation project continues – and this month’s Business After Hours event will give you the perfect opportunity to see for yourself the progress that had been made so far. Jaimee Hornsby Underwood and her brother, Victor Hornsby, along with family members and hard-working helpers, are painstakingly moving right along with the project of bringing the historic property back to life, as well as fulfilling a family dream first conceived by their father, Phillip Hornsby. The elder Hornsby purchased the property in 1990 with the hope of renovating; however, after his tragic death, the dream began to fade. Jaimee, Victor, and the entire Osceola renovation crew have re-imagined the dream and are working daily to make an even grander version of their father’s dream into a reality.
Excitement has spread throughout the community and signs of this project’s progress are appearing daily. The establishment of The Osceola Event Company, the rebirth of the historic Hotel Osceola, and the importance of the facility as a customer-drawing asset to downtown’s businesses and its recreational landscape, have motivated community members and organizations to applaud the Hornsby family’s efforts and to lend support and assistance in any way they can to keep the dream alive.
Join the fun and take a tour on December 14th at 5:30 p.m.
