Animal Rescue Alliance invites all to its open house this Saturday from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m.
The Animal Rescue Alliance (ANR) invites everyone to come out to its open house this Saturday, June 15th, from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. The event will allow the shelter the opportunity to introduce its new employees Carrie Holland, Star Hintze, Amaya Thompson, and Madyson Lewis.
The open house will also give the shelter the chance to shine a spotlight on new additions at the facility which includes new dog play yard equipment, made possible through Tommy Johnson’s Eagle Scout project. See details on Johnson’s project on page 2 in this edition.
Attendees will have the chance to see the facility’s new stainless steel cat kennels. The Bainbridge Humane Society donated the cat kennels to ANR when they moved into their new Bainbridge facility.
Shelter staff will also be sharing information with the public about ANR’s Doggie Day Out program, where people can take a dog home (or on an outing) for the afternoon, for the night, or for a weekend. It’s a win-win— it gets the dogs out of the shelter for a bit, it gives them exposure and for people who can’t have a dog full-time, they still get to love on a dog but then can bring it back.
The shelter’s staff has started contacting all of the facility’s previous volunteers to get them to come back regularly. Staffers’ goal is to get every dog out for a walk and for play time every single day. Dogs can definitely start to suffer from kennel decline, and shelter staff works to actively prevent this.
And if those reasons are not enough incentive to come out to Saturday’s open house, how about showing up for Coffee with Kitties from 10 a.m. until 12 noon. All participants will be treated to coffee and cake in the lobby while they get to snuggle with adorable kitties.
